Camberwell 2

Project Overview & Consultation

The tree lined streets of Camberwell are home to some beautiful cottages and we had the pleasure of turning one of them into a real showpiece.

The project included a complete internal renovation of the existing 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom floorplan, with the addition of a stunning new kitchen and beautiful sunny deck from which to enjoy the leafy outlook.

Concept & Design

The plans, prepared by Windust x architecture, completely transformed the street presence of, this once meek, cottage home.

Before you even open the front door you are instantly captivated by the beautiful landscaping and striking rendered frontage. Once you do venture inside you will find a grand hallway filled with natural light and a carefully curated array of joinery that creates the perfect blend of form and function.

The steps at the end of the hallway take you into the real heart of the home. The kitchen is a true work of art with its curved edges and batten details and the full width bifold doors create a seamless transition to the magical outdoors.

Once you make it to the rear courtyard you can enjoy the functionality of off street parking and shed storage, but you might not even know they are there as they are cleverly concealed behind a stunning architecturally designed screen reminiscent of an array of musical pipes.

Each area within the home and gardens was meticulously renovated, with every detail carefully considered, to create a space that is equal parts homely and stunning all at once.

Project Management

We were fortunate to collaborate with the Windust team in bringing their vision to life.

We also worked closely with the owner and thoroughly enjoyed taking them on this transformative renovation journey.

While the renovation was largely cosmetic, there were many moving parts and planning was of the essence. We stayed on top of all of the details through fortnightly site meeting and an expertly managed Trello board.

Our client was in awe of the finished product and could not wait to move in and put their own mark on this beautiful space.

Project Completion & Outcomes

When we handed over this project, our clients were so  delighted they asked us to renovate their main bathroom. Our client also wanted a Butler’s Pantry in place of her old, run down laundry near her kitchen and so the ideas started to flow. Our solution was to move the laundry to the main bathroom and transform it into a European style laundry. We then used the existing laundry space to create the Butler’s Pantry. Finally, we moved the doorway to the main bathroom, which also made the main bathroom more private from the kitchen area.
